Thriller and fantasy books
The author has created a plausible world. Janet writes so well that the story that has you in it's grip through battles, dark places and dishonour until the very end. 
A great historical novel. Some hostoricals leave me cold but this one had me reading into the night. 
This author is skilled at writing an emotional and fascinating historical book. Mercy has the misfortune of losing her parents before she is born and is raised by her grandparents. Suddenly her life is turned upside down when she learns of the deal her grandparents have struck with the local businessman. As if that wasn't bad enough, things get much worse before she is rescued from the evil clutches of Madame du Pont. This story is full of unexpected twists and plenty of evil characters that make you glad you never met them.
A gripping bad boy story.
The Knife of Never Letting Go by Patrick Ness. This was a great read. I enjoyed reading about Todd, Manchee the dog and Viola. I was so sad when Manchee died.The first person point of view made this read more immediate and somehow urgent. Tod and Viola are barely in their teens and their emotions are expressed in a childlike way. We feel Todd's hurt, his joys and agonies. There was a lot of violence, and deliberate misspellings as we are in Todd's point of view because that's the way he thinks these words are spelt. My only disappointment is that ending was incomplete as this is a series. I'll have to get the next book to find out what happens.
The Bone Doll's Twin is an unusual story which is mostly told via a dead person. It's a gripping story that had me urging the investigators to find the killer. 
I enjoyed this amazing story. This woman went through hell. It's written from the heart in such a way that it makes you feel like you are really there. Powerful writing. I can recommend this story without hesitation.
This is a thrilling story. It's well written and tightly plotted and will stop you from sleeping until you reach the end. Memorable characters and a religion is always contentious subject. This is way better than a Dan Brown story.
Oblivion's Forge is a solid story. Simon has created some memorable characters in a well drawn alternate world. It was easy to get caught up with the trials and tribulations of these characters. Overall the story is well plotted, full of blood and gore and enough twists and turns to entertain the reader. 
What an amazing story.
This book sucks you in and you can't stop until the last page.
